Pimples are also known by many other names such as zits, bumps and acne. The names are used interchangeably but they all tend to refer to the same thing. One persistent question though is: what are causes of pimples?
There could be many of them, but the main ones are as follows:
Overproduction of oil
The sebaceous glands are located beneath the skin.Ordinarily, the oils is produced for keeping the skin oily and prevent it from drying. However, the glands sometimes produce more oil than the skin can possibly get rid of. The oil remains on the surface of the skin, clogging the very pores from which it came from. One of the causes of pimples is thus blocking of the pores of the skin by oil.
Dead skin cells
The human skin sheds itself and new one regenerates daily. If the rate of the new skin is less than the ability to get rid of the old one, the dead skin cells accumulate on the skin. This leads to blockage of the skin pores.
There are a number of yeast infections which have been linked to the causes of pimples. Some bacteria strains could also lead to the problem.
The lipstick and make up we use have substances in them which affect the skin. The wax in some of the lip balms blocks the opening of the pores. As a result, you will suffer from spots or acne. The makeup also attracts dirt and dust which could block the skin, hence causing the problem.
Some people have excessively oily skins. If they do not wash off the oil with plenty of water, you will tend to have this problem.
Genes play an important role in causing the pimples. You are likely to suffer from pimples if both or one of your parents suffered from it.
